About Me

Hey!  I’m Ladianne!  For real.  People have always asked if that’s my REAL name.  It is.

This is me:

I am a creative spazz much of the time.   It’s not that I can’t focus – it’s that I find so many things SO VERY INTERESTING!  In high school I attended a school of the arts where I studied classical vocal performance.  I went on to college as a music major and quickly figured out that wasn’t what I wanted to do with my life.  I graduated college and went into marketing in the business consulting world.

Since graduating from undergraduate school, marriage, kids, divorce, and a very happy new marriage have all served as the stuff of my life, along with my work as a writer, visual artist, and musician.   I went to graduate school and earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Arts.  After that I started teaching art at a non-profit organization serving teens.

In 2009, when I started my divorce adventure, I decided to teach myself to knit.  Well, technically, I was sort of talked into trying knitting by a friend.  Although I have since lost touch with the friend, I have hung on to the hobby – and am almost two-thirds of the way through the Master Hand Knitter program offered by The Knitting Guild of America.

I’ve also been working for nearly a year in preparation to open a yarn shop with the most amazing partner on the planet.    I couldn’t be happier – the shop will allow me to pull together just about every single thing I’ve ever done!  It will also allow me to do several things I LOVE:  creative work, business, and teaching.  (Just typing that makes my heart do a little dance…)

So, this little bucket of words and pictures is all about that stuff.  And some other things sometimes.

Anyway –
